Hi All,
I'm coming to this fount of knowledge with a question.
I have a Perkins Braille Machine which is about ten years old, or maybe more... not sure exactly when I got this particular one, as these things are generally recycled among students if they're still in good condition.
Everything on it works perfectly, except that lately, the carraige is starting to stick as I write. In other words, as I press down the keys, I have to physically move the "hammer" (or whatever you call the little thing that presses down on the paper) forward, or everything gets stuck on top of each other. If I forget to do this when on a roll with writing something, the whole machine jams and I have to reinsert the paper and try to line it up again.
Any ideas much appreciated!

sound like it could use a good cleaning.
Agree with the last poster. It needs a really good cleaning, and I would send it back to Perkins for that. They oil it along with cleaning it.
Thanks! That's great, didn't know you could get that done. Will definitely look into that after Christmas.
